About Stuck on Aloha
In November 2017, MyPearlCity community manager Barry Villamil started a modest project: A wall at the Pearl City Shopping Center where visitors could post notes sharing their thoughts and feelings about life. Dubbed the MESSAGES OF LIFE – HEALING WALL, the concept took off rapidly. Soon, the wall was awash in a riot of colored squares bearing messages of faith, hope, longing, despair, courage, laughter and love. In 2018, Villamil began curating a collection of notes — and the personal stories of those who had written them — destined for a new project: a keepsake book. <i>Stuck on Aloha</i> will showcase more than a dozen exceptional individuals and share hundreds of notes that convey the heartfelt aloha found at the WALL.
