Pearl City gets past Kalaheo 54-51, advances to OIA D2 championship semifinals

The Pearl City Lady Chargers advanced to the Oahu Interscholastic Association Division II Girls Basketball Championship Semifinals after a hard fought 54-51 opening round battle over the visiting Kalaheo Lady Mustangs on Wednesday at Pearl City High School.

Jasmine Murao pumped in 12 points with 3-3 pointers, and Jasmine Calderon added 11 points to lead the Chargers in scoring. Mahealani Morse scored a game high 16 points with 4-3 pointers and teammate Tati Sampson dropped in 12 points to lead the Lady Mustangs.

W2 Pearl City moves on to the semifinals to face E1 Castle at Castle High School on Tuesday, January 22 at 6:00pm. E2 Farrington will travel to Waipahu High School to take on the W1 Lady Marauders in a semifinal match-up on Tuesday, January 22 at 6:00pm Farrington defeated W3 Waialua 60-34 last night to advance to the semifinals.
