Chargers drop season opener 3-0 to the Seariders

The visiting Waianae Seariders shut-out the Pearl City Chargers 3-0 this afternoon in OIA Western Division Varsity baseball played at Pearl City High School.

Waianae's Kaleo Akiona earned the win pitching 5 innings while allowing no runs, 3 hits, with 6 strikeouts and 4 walks. Akiona also batted 1-3 with a double and RBI. Jason Swift pitched 1.2 innings in relief to earn the save.

Alika Almaraz took the loss for the Chargers. Almaraz pitched 2 innings allowing 1 run on 2 hits. Ethan Yonamine, Joshua Aribal, and Dacoda Agoto pitched in relief for the Chargers.

The Chargers return to league play on Wednesday, March 20 against Campbell at Pearl City High School.
