Pearl City drops to 1-8 after 2-1 loss to Kapolei

The Kapolei Hurricanes scored in the top of the seventh inning to break a 1-1 tie and go on to beat the Pearl City Chargers 2-1 on Wednesday in OIA D1 West Division baseball played at Pearl City High School.

Izeth Owens-Kalaola went the distance to earn the win for Kapolei.Owens allowed 1 run on four hits with 6 strikeouts and 1 walk.

Dacoda Agoto took the loss for Pearl City. Agoto pitched 6 innings allowing 1 run on 5 hits with 7 strikeouts and 2 walks.

Jerrin Poopaa-Adaro pitched 1 inning in relief allowing 1 run on 1 hit with 2 strikeouts and no walks.

Bula White 2-3, double, Aaron Yeung 2-3, RBI, Kainoa Mane 1-3, run, and Alex Rodriquez 1-3, led the Hurricanes at the plate.

Micah Zeller 2-4, Tyson Murakami 1-2, run, Jerrin Poopaa-Adaro 1-4, RBI led the Chargers at the plate.

The Chargers fell to 1-8 while the Hurricanes improved to 4-6 in league play.

The Chargers return to action on the road against #1 Campbell on Friday, April 12 with first pitch scheduled for 3:00pm.

Tyson Murakami makes the turn at third base and heads home to score

the Chargers solo run of the ball game that tied the score at 1-1 in the

bottom of the 5th inning. Murakami got on base with a single, stole second

base, and scored on Jerrin Poopaa-Adaro's RBI infield grounder.
