Kaiser runs away from Pearl City 33-7 in regular season opener

he Kaiser Cougars jumped on the visiting Pearl City Chargers early last night and never looked back to open the 2019 OIA D2 Varsity Football regular season nwith a lopsided 33-7 win.

The Cougars got on the scoreboard on a 41 yard interception by Ethan Domen off of Charger QB Makana Canyon at 10:15 of the first quarter. Kyler Halvorsen pumped through the PAT that gave the Cougars an early lead at 7-0.

The Cougars built up a 26-0 lead until the Chargers got on the scoreboard at 11:4 of the fourth quarter on a 3-yard touchdown pass from QB Isaiah Ameperosa-Cruz to Joshua Gleason. Landon Chang converted the PAT to make the score 26-7.

Kaiser scored their final touchdown in the fourth quarter on a 15 yard touchdown run by Ethan Lynch with :48 remaining on the game clock. The Cougars converted the PAT to take a 33-7 lead.

Kaiser QB Easton Yoshino completed 14 of 30 for 127 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception..

Pearl City QB Makana Canyon completed 12 of 41 for 133 yards and 3 interceptions.

Chargers QB Isaiah Ameperosa-Cruz completed 1/1 for 3 yards and 1 touchdown.
