Tomorrow the Pearl City Community will honor and celebrate the life of the late Congressman K. Mark Takai during the 4th Annual K. Mark Takai Family Fun Day at the Momilani Community Center.
Congressman Takai impacted so many lives as a U.S. Representative in Congress, as well as serving his country as a Lt. Col.in the Hawaii National Guard. His legacy continues to perpetuate his spirit of giving upon those in the community who deserve to be recognized for their commitment to bettering the lives of those around them while building and extending their leadership skills to benefit others. Their future legacies are truly inspired upon the foundation of support and recognition from the late Congressman from Pearl City.
On Thursday, Principal Alisa Bender of Lt. Col. Horace Meek Hickam Elementary School received the 2019 K. Mark Takai Outstanding Civilian Contributor Commendation Award that was presented to her by Sami Takai, the wife of Congressman Takai. Principal Bender received the award for implementing several programs that addressed the needs of military students and their families. Congratulations!
