PCHES third graders receive free dictionaries from the Rotary Club of Pearlridge

Community volunteers from the Rotary Club of Pearlridge (RCOP) kicked off the 2019-2020 Annual Rotary International Dictionary 5000 Project at Pearl City and Aiea elementary schools on Monday, September 9.. On Tuesday, September 10, RCOP board members, Dick Mosko, Lasar McCabe, Barry Viillamil and Clarence Delude presented 84 free dictionaries to third grade students and their teachers at Pearl City Highlands Elementary School.

Third graders and their teachers from 12 elementary schools representing Pearl City and Aiea will receive over 800 free dictionaries from the RCOP during the 2019-2020 school year as a part of the Rotary International Dictionary 5000 Project.

Board members from the RCOP will also return at the end of the school year to present one student from each of the 12 elementary schools with a Good Citizen Award which includes a $50.00 check and recognition certificate from the Rotary Club of Pearlridge.

Each Good Citizen Award winning student who best exemplified the principles of Rotary International’s “Four Way Test” throughout the school year will be selected by their teachers to receive the award.

"Four Way Test"

1.  Is it the truth;
2.  Is it fair to all concerned,
3.  Will it bring good will and better friendships,
4.  Will it be beneficial to all concerned.
