PCHES, Waiau Elementary receive $1000 Pearl City Shopping Center Gift Certificates Donations

The Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association commenced their financial support of Pearl City District Complex Schools for the 2019-2020 school years with $1000.00 Pearl City Shopping Center (PCSC) Gift Certificates donations presented to Pearl City Highlands Elementary and Waiau Elementary on Friday, September 6. Sheri Rolf and I represented the Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association Board during the gift certificates presentations.

The annual $1000.00 Pearl City Shopping Center Gift Certificates donations rotate between the eight Pearl City Complex elementary schools with two schools receiving donations each year. PCSC owner Duane Kurisu is committed to supporting the financial needs of our Pearl City schools at every level with donations made annually to elementary schools (Science and Robotics Programs, Back to School Back Pack Program, $1000.00 PCSC Gift Certificates Donations), Highlands Intermediate School's Science and Robotics Programs, and Pearl City High School’s Science and Robotics Programs, Charger Athletics, Charger Marching Band Program, and Project Graduation.

Mahalo to Pearl City Highlands Elementary School Principal, Mr. Zachary Sheets and Waiau Elementary School Vice Principal Mr. Kim Koga for the warm welcome that Sheri and I received during our visit to your schools by students, faculty and staff.

"We thank the Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association for their generosity and support! We will be using the gift certificates as grade-level incentives. Again, thank you for your support of public education and PCHES."

Zachary Sheets, Principal, Pearl City Highlands Elementary School

"Thank you for the generous gift to Waiau Elementary School. We feel so fortunate to receive the gift certificates and we know it will be beneficial to our school and students. We plan on purchasing classroom supplies with the gift certificates to help support our students. We also plan on using the money to help with class and campus beautification projects. It is through parent and the community assistance which really makes the biggest difference in our schools and especially in our students."
