Proceeds from cookbook sales to benefit Aloha United Way

Pre-sales of Hawaiian Electric’s latestcookbook HÅ« ka Ê»ono: Favorite Island Recipes from Hawaiian Electric’s Ê»Ohana and Friendshas begun at www.hawaiianelectric.com/AUWcookbook. The all new, spiral-bound collection features 160 recipes from employees, retirees, family, friends, local chefs, and nonprofit partners, as well as energy tips for the home cook. Priced at $14, all proceeds will benefit Aloha United Way, thenonprofit organization celebrating 100 years of working to create lasting, sustainable change in our communities.

HÅ« ka Ê»ono,meaning “so delicious,”reflects how each contributorfelt abouttheir recipe submission. The 180-page cookbook include appetizers; soups, salads and dressings; side and main dishes; desserts; jams and jellies; “no cooking” required; and recipes for those on KETO, gluten-free or Paleo diets. From Crispy Salt and Pepper Shrimp, Honey Baked Shoyu Chicken and Li Hing Mui Spareribs to Poi Bread, Leopard Mochi, and Haupia Pumpkin Pie, the recipes highlight the diversity of local flavors and cultures.
