2020 Senior Bright Lights: Congratulations Alika Almaraz and Trevor Yoneyama

As we honor the Pearl City High School Class of 2020 by turning on the lights at Edwin Neves Stadium every Friday during the month of May at 8:20pm for 20 minutes to honor and recognize the amazing PCHS Class of 2020, I would also like to send my Aloha and gratitude to those senior student athletes who shined as Chargers under the lights on the stadium turf.

Today we honor two very talented and popular Pearl City High School senior student athletes who  played integral roles in the success of the Pearl City Chargers baseball program during their careers.

Alika Almaraz was a force as a starting pitcher in the Chargers solid pitching rotation. Alika was also a power hitting threat on defense for the Chargers.

Trevor Yoneyama could always be counted on as a productive contributor to the Chargers potent offensive fire power at the plate and for his speed and athletic skills in the outfield.

Alika and Trevor’s 2020 senior baseball season was cut short with the cancellation of all Spring sports by the Hawaii High School Athletic Association in March due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Chargers were able to play three regular season OIA Western Division games before the cancellation was announced.

Even though their senior season was not completed, Alika and Trevor will carry with them upon graduation and beyond, the respect for their senior leadership, inspirational play and accomplishments from their teammates, coaches, and Chargers ohana.

Congratulations to Alika and Trevor

“Excellence with Honor”

Go Chargers!
