Aloha!
Each year, The Children's Youth Day event takes place on the grounds of the State Capitol honoring the children and youth of Hawaii every first Sunday in October. This year, the 27th annual Children's Youth Day will be held virtually for the first time from 10AM-3PM on Sunday, October 4, 2020. This will allow children and families to be safe in the comfort of their own home and enjoy doing fun activities together like engaging in educational videos, a virtual scavenger hunt, and watching local entertainment and so much more. The theme for this year is Pilina, belonging.
Ka Pilina o ka Hula me ka Hookanikapila have been invited by Ms. Karen to be a part of CYD virtually. Since it was hard to gather all the hula girls due to social distancing, a few got together and made hula videos on their own for submission. There are 4 time slots of their performances:
10:35 am: Kamalani
11:35 am: Ka Pilina O Ka Hula Me Ke Ho'okanikapila
11:40 am: Violette
11:45 am: Arahmae
Those interested in participating with this year's virtual Childrens Youth Day event may register for free at www.hawaiicyd.org from now till the day of the event.
A schedule of the day's event will be featured in the Honolulu Star Advertiser.
Take care and stay safe,
