Pearl City overpowers Leilehua 14-4 in OIA softball

The Lady Chargers improved to 3-0-2 after defeating Leilehua (2-3-1) Tuesday afternoon 14-4 at Kaala Park in Wahiawa.

The Lady Chargers pounded out 14 hits in the ball game led by outstanding homerun hitting performances by Mya Grado 3-4, HR, double, 5 RBI, 3 runs; Tiari Fernandez 2-3, HR, 4 RBI, 2 runs; Jewel Larson 2-5, HR, 2 RBI, run.

Julia Oshiro 2-3, triple, RBI, 2 runs; Taryn Fujioka 1-3, RBI, 2 runs; Kiana Calleon 1-1; Lainey Honma 1-4, run; Haydyn Yamaguchi 1-1, run, all contributed at the plate in the Lady Chargers win over the Lady Mules.

The Lady Mules were productive at the plate with 10 hits led by Leihulu Umiamaka, 2-4, HR, 2 RBI, run and Kalia Kekahuna Fernandez 2-3, triple, RBI, run scored.

Jo-Zayah Iriarte earned the win for Pearl City pitching 4 2/3 innings while allowing 3 runs, 9 hits with 2 strikeouts. Grace Kikuchi pitched 2 1/3 innings allowing 1 run, 1 hit with no strikeouts.

Xaniah Toaiva-Talo took the loss for Leilehua pitching 5 1/3 innings allowing 8 runs, 8 hits, with 1 strikeout.

The Lady Chargers will wrap up the 2021 season on Thursday at Kailua High School against the Lady Surfriders with first pitch schedule for 10:00am
