Rotary Club of Pearlridge Interact team welcomes Highlands Intermediate Interact Club during official certification presentation ceremony

I am so proud to announce that the Rotary Club of Pearlridge (RCOP) welcomed the club’s newest RCOP Youth Interact Club at Highlands Intermediate School in Pearl City on Monday.

(From Rotary Internationals Interact Advisor Guide)

WHAT IS INTERACT? Interact is a service club for youth ages 12 to 18 who want to connect with other young people and have fun while serving their communities and learning about the world. Clubs, which meet at least twice a month, are sponsored year, one that helps their school or community and one that promotes international understanding. Members of sponsor Rotary clubs mentor Interactors as they carry out the projects and develop leadership skills.

I was joined by RCOP President Dick Mosko to present the Highlands Intermediate Interact advisor Eric White and his Interact students with their official Highlands Intermediate School Interact banner, certification plaque, and meeting bell and gavel.

The students also represent the school’s nationally award winning Student Council team. It was a great opportunity to meet them for the first time and experience their enthusiasm and spirit, beginning with their amazing and very supportive teacher and advisor Mr. White.

Our RCOP/HIS Interact team; Barry Villamil, Emily Kuraoka, and Dick Mosko are looking forward to volunteering together with the Interact students for community projects, as well as supporting their leadership programs, activities and events.

Mr.Eric White, Highlands Intermediate School Interact and Student Council Advisor

“Thanks so much for stopping by today for the Highlands Intermediate Interact presentation of certificate and banner ;). The kids were really honored and are excited to work with you folks on some community service projects!”

On Saturday, October 23, Highlands Intermediate School Interact Club students will head out into the community with another RCOP Interact Program from the Our Savior Lutheran Interact Club in Aiea and RCOP community volunteers for the annual Honolulu City & County Pearl Harbor Trail Clean-up and Beautification work day.

The RCOP Interact Program is also excited to announce financial support for Highlands Intermediate and Our Savior Lutheran, and for recertification Interact school, Pearl City High School.

RCOP board member and RCOP/Pearl City High School Interact team member Eric Fujimoto has generously donated $250.00 towards each school’s Interact program.

The Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association has also generously donated $250.00 to each school in support of the Interact students ultimately reaching and achieving their leadership goals.

The future looks bright with each Hawaii Rotary District 5000 Interact Club and Rotary International Interact Club’s worldwide as they build, support, and guide our youth into being productive and inspiring leaders in the communities that they live, study, volunteer, and thrive.

Welcome Highlands Intermediate School Interact Club!
