Mahalo to the Pearl City Neighborhood Board, Honolulu Police Department, and Walk Wise Hawaii for sponsoring the Drive Safe Sign-waving event this afternoon held at the intersection of Komo Mai Drive and Hoomoana Street fronting the Momilani Community Center in Pearl City.

The sign-waving event ran from 5:00pm-6:00pm with many motorists beeping their horns in appreciation for the volunteer’s efforts to slow down traffic while delivering traffic safety awareness messages on their signs.

It’s very encouraging to see the Pearl City Neighborhood Board take a leadership role in organizing community events with their partners that truly benefits residents and their ohana, as well as visitors to Pearl City.

Today’s goal was to begin the process through sign- waving to make Pearl City neighborhood streets safer for both motorists and pedestrians. It’s safe to say that it was a huge success!

Mahalo to all the wonderful community volunteers!
