Lady Chargers ride momentum into OIA DI Softball Quarterfinals with 9-4 defeat of Lady Knights

Congratulations to the Pearl City Lady Chargers who advanced to the 2022 Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I Softball Championship Quarterfinals after defeating Castle 9-4 on Wednesday in the championship first round at Castle High School. The Lady Chargers will take on OIA Western Division Champion Mililani on Thursday in the quarterfinals with first pitch scheduled for 3:00pm.

Pearl City’s Grace Kikuchi earned the win in relief pitching 2 innings while allowing no runs, no hits with no strikeouts.

Ava Puaatuua pitched 4 2/3 innings for the Lady Chargers allowing 4 runs, 3 hits with 5 strikeouts.

Castle’s Julian Keanu Berinobis took the loss pitching 7 innings while allowing 9 runs, 10 hits with 1 strikeout.

Pearl City’s Mya Grado had a great day at the plate hitting 2-2 with a double and 2 RBI.
