PCHS Class of ’82 holds 40th Reunion KC Waffle Dogs fundraiser at Pearl City Shopping Center

Aug 8, 2022 | PC Community

Mahalo to the Pearl City High School Class of ’82 Ohana who served up ono KC Waffle Dogs on Sunday at the 808 Craft & Gift Fair held at the Pearl City Shopping Center.

PCHS alumni representing the class of ’82 and their supporters, manned a fundraiser booth which was located fronting Bank of Hawaii on the Pearl City Shopping Center’s upper level (near McDonalds). The class of ’82 is raising funds for their upcoming 40th Anniversary Celebration which will be held from October 6-8, 2022.

Mahalo to the class ’82 for the “Hot, right off the griddle” waffle dogs. Man, it was so ono! It reminded me of the days when I paddled for Lokahi Canoe Club at the Ala Wai and would stop by on occasion and grind a couple waffle dogs at the original KC Waffle Dog Drive-In in Kapahulu. We would just drive up and the wait help would come out, take our order and in about 10 minutes, deliver the order on a tray that would attach to the driver’s side door. Those were good times!

My favorite Waffle Dog was with maple syrup. Yup, I would bite off the top and pour maple syrup inside the dog. Wow! Now that’s a “sweet” KC Waffle Dog! Not allowed to consume that much sugar anymore, but great memories for sure.

I would like to congratulate and wish the PCHS Class of 1982 the best as they celebrate their 40th Anniversary in 2022.

GO CHARGERS!
