Kanoelani Elementary, Pearl City Elementary receive $1000.00 check donations from Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association

Congratulations to Kanoelani Elementary School and Pearl City Elementary School from the Pearl City District School Complex who received $1000.00 check donations from the Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association on Monday, August 29, 2022, during presentations at each school.

Barry Villamil representing the Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association, presented Kanoelani Elementary School Principal Neil Blomberg and Pearl City Elementary School Principal James Suster with $1000.00 donation checks in each school’s administration office.

The Pearl City Shopping Center Merchant’s Association, and Pearl City Shopping Center owner Duane Kurisu are committed to supporting Pearl City District Complex Schools with annual monetary donations that assists in providing much needed funds that go directly to each school’s annual budget in support of programs and extra-curricular activities.

Neill Blomberg, Principal, Kanoelani Elementary School

“I just want to thank the Pearl City Shopping Center. They have been a wonderful partner for us here at Kanoelani Elementary School, and to make such a generous donation of a thousand dollars is something that we can directly use for our student technology, and for our student tutoring efforts. So, it’s going to be really exciting, and we hope to continue this partnership in the future, because it’s really been good for the whole Waipio area through their support of us.”

James Suster, Principal. Pearl City Elementary School

“The funds will help our school with buses, it’s a big thing. We’re trying to get back into field trips, so I think having the kids be able to get more experiences outside of just in-school is where this money can be helped and used for. PTSO helps, but it’s limited to what they can do, as well as to try and find funds to lower costs for our students to get better experiences.”

Two Pearl City District Complex Schools receive $1000.00 check donations annually. The two annual check donations rotate each school year between the eight Pearl City District Complex elementary schools.

Pearl City Shopping Center owner Duane Kurisu and the Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association annually supports Pearl City District Complex Schools, community organizations, and community events with over $28,0000 in monetary donations.
