Pearlridge Rotary Interact Clubs from PCHS, Highlands Intermediate, Cross Academy beautify Puuloa Springs and Pearl Harbor Peace Bell

Jan 23, 2023 | PC Community, PC Schools

Mahalo to all the Rotary Youth Interact Leadership Clubs from Pearl City High School, Highlands Intermediate School, and Cross Academy School, who volunteered their time on Saturday, January 21 to clean-up and beautify a portion of the Pearl Harbor Bike Trail at Puuloa Springs located near Blaisdell Park in Aiea/Pearl City.

The Interact student volunteers and advisors, joined Rotary Club of Pearlridge community volunteers to tackle Saturday’s workday tasks of pulling out overgrown weeds and grass from the Puuloa Springs native Hawaiian Garden, as well as clear out trash and overgrown weeds and grass from the Puuloa Springs freshwater stream.

A team of Rotary Club of Pearlridge volunteers picked up rubbish along the bike trail from Puuloa Springs to the bridge near Cutter Ford and the Peace Bell in Blaisdell Park

A group of Interact Club students from Cross Academy along with school Principal Clarence De Lude spent the morning during Saturday’s workday project cleaning and beautifying the area around the Blaisdell Park Peace Bell.

Mahalo to Rotary Club of Pearlridge Community Service Chair / Treasurer Lasar McCabe for once again organizing and leading the workday project, and also supplying tools, equipment and trash bags. Also, mahalo to RCOP community volunteers led by President Dick Mosko and RCOP board members Rick Lau, Gordon Arakaki and Barry Villamil, along with RCOP community volunteer Patrick McCabe for all his support with each Puuloa Springs workday project.

I would also like to extend, once again, a very special mahalo to all the Interact club student volunteers and advisors who worked hard throughout the workday while representing their Interact clubs/Student Council and their schools in the community.
