The visiting Leilehua Mules overpowered the Pearl City Chargers 9-4 on Saturday in Oahu Interscholastic Western Division I Softball played at Pearl City High School.
Breeann Leong picked up the win for the Mules. Grace Kikuchi took the loss for the Chargers.
Leilehua (1-2) picked up their first win of the regular season, while Pearl City (0-4) remained winless in league play.
Leilehua out hit Pearl City 12-3 led by Kanani Kekahuna-Fernandez who had a solid performance at plate hitting 4-4 with two doubles, two RBI and one run scored. Shazzlynn Ancheta batted 2-4 with a HR, two RBI and three runs scored. Dyna Kanae-Huihui went 2-4 with a double.
Kendal Adaro batted 1-3 with two RBI, Ava Puaatuua 1-3, RBI, and Haydyn Yamaguchi 1-4 picked up the Chargers three hits in the ball game.
Leilehua returns to action on Tuesday, March 14 against Mililani (1-1) at Kaala Park in Wahiawa at 3:00pm.
Pearl City will host Waianae (3-0) on Tuesday, March 14 with first pitch scheduled for 3:00pm.
