Rotary Club of Pearlridge (RCOP) President Dick Mosko and I (Barry Villamil) had the honor of sitting in at Friday’s weekly Pearl City High School (PCHS) Interact Club meeting and came away truly inspired for upcoming Hawaii and International community service projects that the club and their advisor Dane Souza are embarking on.

The PCHS Interact Club meeting opened with a recap of this past Saturday’s Puuloa Springs workday. Presentations followed by fellow Interact Club members who presented updates on a Culture Day fundraiser, and the most ambitious project that will have the club reaching out with a global community service project that connects them with a country in need and a Rotary International Club(s) in that country/city.

Project:

International Understanding

 What’s going on?

The PCHS Interact Club will choose a country from the following countries below to provide humanitarian aid:

New Zealand (Flooding, Cyclone)

Pakistan (Flooding)

Brazil (Flooding)

The PCHS Interact Club will fundraise to provide the following:

Shipping care/aid packages

Water Purification Tablets

The RCOP will make a monetary donation in support of the PCHS Interact Club’s International Understanding, What’s going on? Global Rotary Interact outreach service project.
