The Pearl City Chargers improved to 2-4 in Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division I Baseball league standings after defeating the visiting Nanakuli Golden Hawks 7-3 on Wednesday at Pearl City High School.
With the loss, the Nanakuli Golden Hawks pulled even at 3-3 in league standings.
Jayden Mizuno earned the win for the Chargers. Donald Kapaku took the loss for the Golden Hawks.
Pearl City bats pounded out 13 hits to Nanakuli’s 6 hits in the ball game.
At the plate, Pearl City’s Logan Honma continued his attack on opposing pitchers hitting 3-3 with 3 doubles and 3 runs scored. Drew Boyles went 3-3 with a double, RBI, and run scored. Devin Fujino batted 2-3 with a RBI. Eddie Ogasawara 1-2, 2 runs scored; Jayson Au Hoy 1-3, RBI , run scored; Kenta Kawasaki 1-4; Zechariah Takahashi 1-2

The Chargers will take on the Mililani Trojans (4-2) to start second round play on Saturday, April 1 at Central Oahu Regional Park. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00pm. The game will be broadcast live on Spectrum OC16. The Trojans beat the Chargers 3-1 on March 9 to open the first round of the regular season.
Nanakuli will host league leading Campbell (6-0) on Friday, March 31 with the first pitch scheduled for 3:00pm at Nanakuli High School.
