Manana Elementary School celebrates Rotary Club of Pearlridge Good Citizen Awards to two deserving third grade students

May 25, 2023 | PC Community, PC Schools

Congratulations to Manana Elementary School third graders Asher Grilho and Everly Simcock who were awarded Rotary Club of Pearlridge (RCOP) Dictionary 5000 Good Citizen Awards on Wednesday, May 25 in front of their classmates, teachers, and parents during a presentation in their third grade classroom. Asher and Everly both received a congratulatory letter and a $50.00 check sponsored by the RCOP that was presented by RCOP Board Member Barry Villamil.

Asher and Everly were chosen by their teachers Ms. Iris Stokes and Ms. Cynthia Nagamine for best exemplifying the Principles of Rotary International’s Four Way Test during the 2022-2023 school year. It was a very proud moment for Asher and Everly as their classmates cheered them on while receiving their awards.

I would like to congratulate all the Manana Elementary School third graders who worked hard during the school year to follow the Four Way Test. They are a wonderful, polite, and a fun group of students who are blessed by the guidance, vision, and love from their amazing teachers.

The Rotary Club of Pearlridge will complete their 2022-2023 Good Citizen Awards presentations on Friday, May 26 at Waiau Elementary School, and on Wednesday, June 7 at St. Elizabeth School.

Mahalo to the following RCOP members who donated their time to present Good Citizen Awards to 12 schools in Aiea and Pearl City.

Dick Mosko, Emily Kuraoka, Rick Lau, Gordon Arakaki, and Barry Villamil

We all had a great time, and once again, were inspired with each visit to the third-grade classrooms. The RCOP is looking forward to the new school year and our annual distribution of free dictionaries to the third graders and their teachers at each school.

Have a fun and safe weekend!
