CATCHING UP WITH WEST PEARL CITY MANAGER TY TAKAHASHI – ROAD TO A WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP

Aug 3, 2023 | PC Community, PC Sports

The Pride, Class, and Winning Spirit of Pearl City Little League is center stage to a global audience as Manager Ty Takahashi leads his West Pearl City team to Saturday’s 2023 Little League Intermediate 50/70 United States World Series Championship. Until yesterday’s 6-4 loss to Southeast Region Florida.

West Pearl City has played inspirational baseball against championship tournament competition this summer from Hawaii District 7, Hawaii State, Southwest Regionals, to the World Series in Livermore, California.

The loss to Southeast Florida was a wakeup call that required a couple overnight adjustments that came to light in today’s outstanding 2-1 United State World Series semifinal win over East Region.

CATCHING UP WITH WEST PEARL CITY MANAGER TY TAKAHASHI

MY PC: How the boys played rebounding from yesterday’s loss and picking up today’s huge win?

TY: The boys played a great game. Always room for improvement but overall they did good. The main things that were better about today than yesterday are they were more positive in the dugout. They were picking each other up rather than putting each other down. Yesterday we had a lot of negativity within the team. So everything fell apart. So I took their phones like I usually do before they go to bed. But this time I kept it throughout the day. The boys seemed more focused today. Really proud of them.

MYPC: What to expect in Saturday’s U.S. World Series Championship title game? Starting pitcher?

Ty: I expect it to be another tight game. Just like the first time. Florida is a really good team but I believe we’ll execute our game plan a lot better this time around. Starting pitcher is between Noah and Tytan right now.

THANKS TY! GO PC!
