The Rotary Club of Pearlridge had a great opportunity to listen to Friday’s guest speaker Alexis Muller from NOA Botanicals. Alexis serves as the Medical Cannabis Advisor for NOA. Mahlo to RCOP Board member Marshall Lum for scheduling another fantastic RCOP lunch meeting guest who educated RCOP members and guests in attendance while sharing her credentials, knowledge, and expertise regarding the medicinal use and health benefits regarding cannabis products.
Also, mahalo to RCOP President and Past District Governor Dick Mosko for inviting honored guest Father Sebastian Soosai from St. Elizabeth Church and School to Friday’s lunch meeting.
The RCOP would also like to welcome Our Lady of Good Counsel School in Pearl City and Waimalu Elementary School from the Aiea District Complex to our 2023-2024 Rotary Dictionary 5000 Program. Our Lady of Good Counsel and Waimalu Elementary will add another 90 third grade students and their teachers to the RCOP Rotary District 5000 Program. Over 800 third graders and their teachers will receive free dictionaries during the 2023-2024 school year that are being donated by the Rotary Club of Pearlridge.
The RCOP supports third graders and their teachers representing 14 public and private schools in Aiea and Pearl City through the Rotary Dictionary 5000 Program. Each school also receives $50.00 check awards for two third grade students who best exemplify the Principles of Rotary International’s FOUR WAY TEST. The winners are selected by their teachers with students being recognized and receiving their awards at the end of the school year award assemblies.
As the Rotary Club of Pearlridge strives to reach its goals for 2023-2024 and support for our youth in both the Aiea and Pearl City communities through financial assistance and mentorships, we are also proud of our three award winning Interact Schools who made amazing strides and heartfelt accomplishments during the 2022-2023 school year through their versatile and inspiring leadership skills and humanitarian outreach efforts that benefitted many individuals, their ohana, and the communities that they live in here in Hawaii, continental USA, and around the world.
The following schools represent the RCOP sponsored Rotary Youth Leadership Interact Program:
Pearl City High School, Highlands Intermediate School, Cross Academy School
We are so proud of the Interact student leaders and their advisors who inspire us every day as Rotarians as we work together and support educational school projects and events, as well as community service projects in Aiea and Pearl City. The RCOP will also be announcing soon the addition of one or more schools who will be joining our RCOP Rotary Youth Leadership Interact Program during the 2023-2024 school year.
This is a very rewarding and exciting time to be a Hawaii District 5000 Rotarian and a part of a caring, worldwide service organization, and for me as an active board member of the Rotary Club of Pearlridge. Our success as Rotarians is realized by the efforts put forth and shared through community outreach that begins with each club’s leadership that unites, inspires, and guides its membership to accomplish great things that truly benefit mankind. When we all work together, the power to make a difference is heightened and extended throughout and around the revolving Rotary International World.
I am extremely grateful to serve alongside my fellow Rotary Club of Pearlridge members and friends who are the heart and soul of making the communities we serve here in Hawaii and around the world a better place to live and thrive. There is also the magic of “Service Above Self” when we collaborate with other District 5000 clubs while experiencing and accomplishing what we all strive to do and be collectively as Rotarians; SERVE THE WORLD through UNITY.
SERVICE ABOVE SELF
