Pearl City’s perfect season ends with 35-28 D2 semifinal playoff loss to Kaimuki, Letuli rushes for 287 yards, 3 T.D.’s

The Kaimuki Bulldogs entered Bino Neves Stadium on the campus of Pearl City High School last night focused on avenging an early regular season loss to the Pearl City Chargers and a shot at next week’s Oahu Interscholastic Association Championship Division 2 Championship game against the Roosevelt Roughrider, along with an automatic berth into the State D2 Championship Tournament

The Bulldogs outscore the Chargers 21-7 in the third quarter to take the lead and their way to victory. Both teams were held scoreless in the fourth quarter.

Kaimuki QB Iosefa Letuli had an outstanding game while leading the Bulldog offense picking up 287 rushing yards on 35 carries with three touchdowns. Letuli also passed for a touchdown hitting Iosua Letuli on an 11-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter.

Pearl City QB Trey Dacoscos light up the airwaves once again completing 22-38 for 289 yards and four touchdowns. Dacoscos was also picked off three times in the ballgame.

Last night’s loss was a heartbreaker for the Chargers who entered the semifinal match-up with Kaimuki with a perfect 7-0 (regular season) 8-0 (overall) record and a close, 34-27 win over the Bulldogs on Friday, October 6.

Congratulations to the Kaimuki Bulldogs who head to next week’s OIA D2 Championship game against Roosevelt at Mililani High School with kick-off set for 5:00pm. The OIA DI Championship game will follow.
