Mahalo to my fellow Mana Loa Nimitz Lions Club (MLNLC) community volunteers, led by MLNLC President Dexter Aoki, who got to work before the sun came up Saturday morning to clean-up and beautify a stretch of landscaping near the intersection of Kaahele Street and Moanalua Road in Aiea.

We began our Saturday community volunteer workday at 6:30am with the following tasks at hand:

1. Paint over graffiti on the HI Freeway support pillars on Kaahele Street

2. Weedwhack, dig out clumps of California grass and weeds, and pick up rubbish in a stretch of landscaping and roadway near the Kaahele Street and Moanalua Road intersection

3. Pick up and bag rubbish and green waste to haul out of the area for disposal

Work was completed by 8:00am followed by brunch and club fellowship.

Mahalo to our MLNLC members who spend most Saturday mornings volunteering their time in the Aiea, Pearl City, and other communities on Oahu, with their hearts and never ending commitment to serve while beautifying and improving the environment with green, sustainable efforts as Lions that enhance and beautify safe and clean neighborhoods for all to be proud of and enjoy.
