“Those players, coaches and family members worked so hard and deserve so much recognition for the amazing outcome. Additionally, opening ceremonies will be held Saturday, January 20 at 8am at Pearl City District Park Lower Baseball Field with a Minors division game afterwards at 10am.”

On Saturday, January 6, 2024, the Pearl City Little League hosted a seasonal field prep day at Pearl City and Breene Harimoto District Parks. Players and parents arrived at 8am with personal and rented equipment to tend to the baseball fields and surrounding areas. League volunteers mowed and weeded the infield areas, recut and weeded the base paths and pitcher’s mounds and removed leaves and other debris from the bleachers, stadium walkways and stairwells.

Both the upper and lower baseball fields at Pearl City District Park and the baseball field at Breene Harimoto District Park by 7-eleven. received much needed love and attention. With over one hundred people in attendance, the community quickly put over 300 hours of work into the parks! And it shows!

It was evident by the tired smiles on everyone’s faces as they settled into potlucks and snacks at the end of the event that they were proud of a job well done. Thank you, Pearl City Little League, for organizing this community clean up, and HUGE MAHALOS to all the T-ball, Minors and Intermediate players, coaches and family members who stepped up to the plate and hit a home run for community service! Many hands make light work and a little aloha goes a long way!
