Pearl City Elementary captures first and third place at Prince Kuhio Day Hawaii Chess Federation Chess Championship Tournament

Apr 3, 2024 | PC Community, PC Schools

I would like to share amazing championship news below from the Pearl City Elementary Chess Team. The Rotary Club of Pearlridge (RCOP) and RCOP Board Member Eric Fujimoto’s  Ho’ea Foundation contributed a total of $750.00 in support of the PCES Chess Team to help pay for 2024 HCF Championship Tournament individual and team registration fees.

Aloha, Barry, sharing our results and some photos from last Tuesday’s Prince Kuhio Day HCF Chess Tournament.

I’m pleased to report Pearl City won 1st Place in the K-5th Grade bracket for the first time, and also 3rd Place in the K-8th Grade bracket. This is the first time we’ve ever placed in the K-8 bracket, so you can see we are building steam heading into the Hawaii State Scholastic Chess Championship Tournament on April 20th.  We really appreciate the continued support of you, Rotary Club of Pearlridge, Ho’ea, and the Pearl City community.
