I would like to share images from Saturday’s 2024 Pearl City Hongwanji Mission Bon Dance. Last nigh t was another incredible experience as the Pearl City community and their ohana, along with visitors to our community came together to send their prayers and blessings to those who have passed in the past year, as well as wish good health and happiness to all.
Attendees danced and enjoyed an excellent selection of food, snacks, and beverage booths. It was nice to see everyone really enjoying themselves while celebrating and honoring the Japanese culture in Pearl City. I first attended the Pearl City Hongwanji Mission Bon Dance as a 12 year old back in 1970 and look forward to it every year in August.
Mahalo to Pearl City Hongwanji Mission and Bon Dance organizers and volunteers who generously donate their time each year for the community to enjoy a wonderful and memorable experience together.

Pearl City Hongwanji is a Jodo Shinshu Buddhist Temple serving the Pearl City, Hawaii area since 1905. Sunday service is conducted at the Temple most Sundays at 8:30 a.m.
