#1 KAPAA (13-0) vs. #2 PEARL CITY (13-0) in a battle of the undefeated for the HHSAA DII Softball Championship Crown

Congratulations to the Pearl City Chargers who earned their way to the HHSAA DII Softball Championship by defeating the Waimea Menehune in true Chargers style 15-9 on Thursday at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium, University of Hawaii at Manoa.

#2 Pearl City (13-0) will face #1 Kapaa (14-0) Champion of the Kauai Interscholastic Association for the 2025 HHSAA DII Softball Championship Title on Friday at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30pm. The DI Championship game will follow the DII Championship.

Kapaa blew past Pac-5 of the Interscholastic League of Honolulu 17-0 to earn a trip to the DII Championship.

Both Pearl City and Kapaa have dominated their regular season and post season opponents and Friday’s Championship will match two explosive and undefeated ball clubs stacked with hitting and pitching talent.

Pearl City bats stayed hot at the plate in the state championship tournament semifinals with both Phoenix Sky Lumabao (3-4, 2 HR, 3 RBI, 3 runs scored), and Saunette Oshiro (1-4, HR, 2 RBI, 2 runs scored) powering homeruns. Samantha Nakamatsu 2-5, double, 2 RBI, 1 run scored; Maile Oda 2-4, run scored; Harlyn Barry 1-5, run scored; Lilyanni Mata 1-3, 2 RBI, 2 runs scored; Haley Shinjo 1-1, 2 RBI; Giselle Enriquez 2-4, RBI, runs scored.

Waimea also pounded out 13 hits in the loss to Pearl City with outstanding performances from: Kaliea Itamura 1-4, run scored; Kealohi Pundyke 2-3, double, 3 RBI, run scored; Kaulana Huihui-Caberto 2-5, double, RBI; Kamaile Valente 2-4, double, RBI, run scored; Nia Pablo, 1-1, run scored; Alia Lazaro 1-2, RBI, run scored; Ducky Vea 1-4, HR, 2 RBI, run scored; Shelcee Nakaya 2-4, RBI, run scored; Kayani Santos 1-4, run scored.
