The Rotary Club of Pearlridge (RCOP) continued their support of recognizing the success of the Pearl City High School Chargers Athletic Department by welcoming legendary Chargers Air Riflery Head Coaches Lester and Lelan Aranaydo on Friday, May 9 at the RCOP lunch meeting held at the Pearl City Shopping Center Conference Room.

The father/son championship coaching team were special guest speakers on Friday while representing a very successful 2024 regular and post season Air Riflery competition campaign that added another state championship as the Girls Air Riflery team captured the 2024 HHSAA State Girls Air Riflery Team Championship.
Coach Lester has coached at Pearl City High School for the past 47 years. He also served as the Chargers wrestling coach. Coach Lester retired as a teacher at Pearl City High School five years ago and continues today as a Head Coach of the storied PCHS Air Riflery Program that has captured multiple individual and team championships through the years.
Coach Lelan is a former Pearl City High School Hawaii State Individual Air Riflery Champion and a proud graduate of the PCHS Class of 2009. Coach Lelan has also contributed to the championship success of the Chargers Air Riflery program while sharing his championship skills and experience as a coach for over 10+ years alongside his dad.

Your success is a true testament to the Heart and Soul of Leadership and dedication to guide and perpetuate the winning spirit upon student athletes through CHARGER PRIDE… EXCELLENMCE WITH HONOR…
The Chargers will head off to a National Air Riflery Tournament in June and has just returned from a very successful Regional Tournament. The Chargers will also be recognized soon with an Honorary Certificate by the Hawaii State Senate for capturing the 2024 HHSAA State Girls Team Air Riflery Championship.
