By Tony Madrona, Boys Head Coach, Pearl City Chargers Championship Bowling Program
As graduation draws near, what can I say about a banner year for our Boys and Girls bowling team! Capturing the elusive triple titles, OIA West, OIA Championship and the HHSAA State Championship. You can’t achieve this without hard work in class and consistency to their craft. With little bumps in the road, they overcame.

Also being recognized at Honolulu Hale by our entire City Council for their awesome achievement this year.
So I want to use this platform to acknowledge these bright and awesome young men and women.

Coach Millie and I would like to say thank you to our Seniors for some 4 years of fun and memorable times. We are forever grateful for letting us be your coaches. Watching you grow to become responsible young individuals. The world is yours to take! go get it!
For the under class bowler we can only hope that you come back to PCHS high school bowling. But if not we hope your memories this year will stay with the rest of your lives. And say I was a part of that triple crown season.
Thank you to our parents, grandparents, uncles and aunties for taking the time bringing these athletes to practice twice a week, cheering them on during matches, feeding them after matches. Your support means a lot to us as coaches. Year after year. Lastly thank you Principal Halfmann and PCHS faculty. Athletic Director Reid Shigemasa, Assistant AD Michael Pang and PCHS health trainers. And the Pearl City Community for all the support.
In closing its an honor and privilege to be a coach at PCHS. The memories I have made the last 12 years will never be taken away. Thank you coach Millie Gomes for asking me to be your assistant coach winning 5 girls HHSAA titles together. Then becoming the boys head coach winning two more triple crowns! Pretty awesome winning percentage I have to say.
Till next season, mahalo for reading my write-ups. With love and aloha God above all!
