Mahalo to my fellow Mana Loa Nimitz Lions Club community volunteers who have put their heart and soul into a xeriscape/beautification project at Highlands Intermediate School in Pearl City.
The MLNLC have created a few xeriscape gardens on the Highlands Intermediate campus. This past Sunday, MLNLC community outreach chair and past MLNLC President Dexter Aoki and I planted a couple plants that I donated to the xeriscape garden located on Hoolaulea Street fronting the HIS campus.
The xeriscape gardens are flourishing and brighten up the HIS campus and Pearl City neighborhood. Mahalo to neighbors in the area that also contribute plants, as well as water the plants on Hoolaulea Street.
