“The Mānana ʻOhana is very proud that Jodi Kadoyama has been named the Pearl City-Waipahu (PW) complex area Teacher of the Year (TOY). Mahalo to Complex Area Superintendent Richard Fajardo for selecting her. Mānana Elementary is one of the smallest schools in the PW complex area, so to be selected over candidates coming from much larger schools is an amazing feat.
As our Curriculum Coordinator, Jodi not only exemplifies the impact dedicated educators have in preparing our students to become globally competitive and locally committed. She also collaborates with our faculty, staff and school community to create a school culture of respect, dignity, success and lifelong learning.”
I had the honor of sitting down with Pearl City-Waipahu Complex Area Teacher of the Year Jodi Kadoyama and Principal Loo last week for a very inspiring interview that I would like to share with you. Jodi is also nominated with fifteen other teachers of the year from across the state for the prestigious Hawaii State Teacher of the Year Award that will be announced on Friday, September19.
Jodi has spent the last fourteen years at Manana Elementary School and is respected and loved by the thousands of students, staff, administrators, and school supporters that she has touched through the years.
Congratulations and wishing Jodi the best of luck on Friday!
