I had the honor of representing the Rotary Club of Pearlridge (RCOP) this afternoon to present free dictionaries to third graders and their teachers at Manana Elementary School in Pearl City.

The Rotary Club of Pearlridge kicked off their annual Rotary Dictionary 5000 and Good Citizen Awards Program this week.

Third graders and their teachers from fourteen public and private schools in Aiea and Pearl City will receive free dictionaries in the next couple of weeks sponsored by the Rotary Club of Pearlridge Foundation. Dictionary presentations will be made by RCOP members at each school.

One girl and one boy from each school will also have an opportunity to be chosen to receive a RCOP Good Citizen Award.

RCOP Good Citizen Award recipients are chosen by their teachers for best exemplifying the Principles of Rotary International’s “Four Way Test” during the school year. The Four Way Test is printed in the inside cover of each dictionary.

RCOP Good Citizen Award recipients will receive a $50.00 check donated by the RCOP Foundation and a congratulatory lettet from RCOP Past District 5000 Governor / Past RCOP President Dick Mosko during each school’s end of school year awards assemblies.

The Rotary Club of Pearlridge is proud to annually support third graders in both Aiea and Pearl City with the gift of literacy through the RCOP, Rotary International’s District 5000 Dictionary Program.
