Congratulations to the #1 Hawaii Baptist Academy Eagles who won the 2026 HHSAA State Division 2 Girls Basketball Championship Title Saturday night after defeating the #3 Pearl City Lady Chargers 45-41 at the Hilo Civic Center.
Both teams played their hearts out down to the final second of the championship ball game. It will be remembered as a classic and inspirational HHSAA D2 Championship battle between OIA D2 Champion Pearl City and ILH D2 Champion Hawaii Baptist Academy.
Sienna Lamblack led Hawaii Baptist with 14 points that included three 3-pointdrs. Lauren Okuda pumped in 12 points with one 3-pointer.
Pearl City’s Riya Tobosa scored 26 of the Lady Chargers 41 points in the ball game. Tobosa scored 20+ points in each of the Lady Chargers HHSAA D2 Championship Tournament games.
I would like to send out my heartfelt congratulations and appreciation to Lady Chargers Head Coach Kyle Martin, coaching staff, players, managers, Lady Chargers Ohana and supporters for an amazing and successful 2025-2026 basketball season.
