As the Pearl City Chargers baseball team finishes preseason play and sets their focus on next week’s Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division I Baseball regular season opener, they are also preparing for a new OIA regular season game schedule format.
The regular season will be played with opponents taking on each other in a two-game series. Each team will play a home game and an away game, back-to-back in the two-game series.
Duane Eldredge, Head Coach, Pearl City Chargers Baseball
“We are looking forward to the upcoming challenge. Playing the same opponent on consecutive days will truly highlight team depth, moving the focus away from a single dominant arm and toward the strength of the entire roster. Beyond the physical challenge, the mental adjustment required for a series-style format will be invaluable in preparing our athletes for the rigors of college-level play. Hopefully in the near future, we will be able to play a three-game series.”
GO CHARGERS!
