The Pearl City Chargers opened their 2026 OIA Western Division I Baseball regular season on Thursday with a 6-1 victory over the visiting Campbell Sabers at Pearl City High School.
Talon Paahao picked up the win for the Chargers. Talon pitched 5 complete innings while allowing 1 run, 1 hit, with 2 walks and 9 strikeouts. Cole Andrus took the loss for the Sabers.
At the plate for the Chargers:
Noah Kawakami 2-4, 2 runs scored;
David Englar, 2-2, 2 RBI;
Jodi Takara 1-2, 2 RBI, run scored;
Kevin Ujimori 1-3, run scored
At the plate for the Sabers:
Chanson Verdadero 1-2
Pearl City (1-0) and Campbell (0-1) will play again tomorrow at Pearl City High School with first pitch scheduled for 3:00 pm. Campbell will be the home team. (Thanks Mike!)
