The visiting #5 Kaiser Cougars (9-1) came away with an impressive 10-3 win on Saturday over the Pearl City Chargers (7-3) in Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I Baseball played at Pearl City.
Kaiser trailed Pearl City 3-0 entering the top of the 5th inning before jumping on the Chargers for 8 runs to take a commanding 8-3 lead. The Cougars picked up a couple more runs in the top of the 6th inning to go ahead 10-3 and never looked back the rest of way.
Caleb Hamasaki earned the win for the Cougars pitching 4 complete innings while allowing 3 hits, 3 runs with 4 walks and 2 strikeouts. Kalihau Hugo pitched 3 innings in relief of Hamasaki while allowing 1 hit with no walks and 2 strikeouts to earn the save.
The Chargers sent 5 pitchers to the mound on Saturday with Talon Haahao getting the start with a no decision performance. Haahao pitched 3 innings while allowing 1 hit, no runs with no walks and 2 strikeouts. Ian Wicklund took the loss pitching 1 1/3 innings while allowing 2 hits, 4 runs with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. Imipono Kala, Naden Nihipali, and Kysen Hueu also pitched in relief for the Chargers.
