Congratulations to the W2 Pearl City Chargers who battled the E1 Kaiser Cougars to a 6-5 win in the Semifinals of the 2026 Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I Baseball Championships on Thursday at Hans L ‘Orange Field in Waipahu. The win puts the Chargers in the OIA Championship game on Friday to face the winner of Thursday’s second Semifinal match-up between W1 Mililani and E2 Kailua won by Mililani 10-0 (F/5) in the semifinal doubleheader nightcap at Hans L ‘Orange Field.
Friday’s OIA Championship Tite Game will be the third meeting between Pearl City and Mililani with Pearl City winning the first match-up 5-4 and Mililani taking the second 2-1 during the regular season. Mililani captured the OIA DI Western Division regular season title with the win over the Chargers.

Ian Wicklund earned the win over Kaiser and Spectrum OC 16 Impact Player of Game for his outstanding performance in relief for the Chargers. Wicklund brought the heat with a 90+ fastball and 6 strikeouts in 4 complete innings in relief. Wicklund allowed 1 run, 2 hits with 2 walks along with 6 strikeouts. Wicklund also contributed at the plate hitting 2-3 with a RBI and 2 runs scored. Imipono Kala got the start for the Chargers with Chaz Villarin pitching in relief.
Colby Taniguchi took the loss for the Cougars pitching 6 complete innings while allowing 8 hits, 6 runs with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. Caleb Hamasaki pitched 1 inning in relief.
At the plate, Pearl City’s Tytan Takahashi batted a perfect 3-3 with 4 RBI for the Chargers. Jodi Takara 1-4, runs scored; David Englar 1-2, RBI, runs scored; Naden Nihipali; 1-3; Ian Wicklund 2-3, RBI, 2 runs scored
