As Pearl City Chargers fans sat in disbelief, the newly crowned 2026 Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I Baseball Champions Mililani Trojans and their ohana celebrated their incredible, shocking 13-3 (F/6) 2026 Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I Baseball Championship win on Friday at Hans L ‘Orange Field in Waipahu.

Heading to the bottom of sixth inning, with the score tied at 3-3, Mililani exploded for 10 runs that put the Trojans up 13-3 and ended the game due to the 10-run mercy rule while crowning the Trojans OIA Champions.
Mililani ace Zayne Hookala pitched 6 compete innings to earn the championship win for the Trojans. Hookala allowed 3 runs, 6 hits with no walks and 6 strikeouts. Justin Kamanao-Bulosan got the start for Pearl City pitching 2 compete innings while allowing all 3 Trojans runs, 6 hits with 1 walk and no strikeouts in a no decision. Imipono Kala took the loss for the Chargers in relief. Kysen Hueu, Cavan Sekigawa, and Naden Nihipali also pitched in relief for the Chargers.
At the plate, Mililani outhit Pearl City 15-6 highlighted by the Mililani brother combination of Koa and Knox Marzo who jumped on Pearl City pitching with Koa batting 4-5, double, RBI and 3 runs scored, and Knox hitting 3-4, 2 RBI and a run scored. Other leading Trojan hitters: Taye Marxen 2-3, RBI run scored; Jonah Parker 2-2, 2 RBI, run scored; Ayden Kanno 1-2, double, 2 RBI; Ezra Ugale 1-4, double, 2 RBI, run scored; Kameron Pongasi 2-4, double, RBI, 3 runs scored.
At the plate for Pearl City, Tytan Takahashi added to his championship playoffs hitting streak with a 2-3, run scored performance. Other leading Chargers hitters: Noah Kawakami 1-3; Ian Wicklund 1-3, run scored; Jeiden Yamamura 1-3, run scored; Cohen Adaro 1-3, double, 2 RBI
OIA Champion Mililani and Runner-up Pearl City will head to the 2026 HHSAA Wally Yonamine Foundation State Division I Baseball Championships scheduled for Wednesday-Saturday, May 6 – 9. TBA.
