The Pearl City Chargers and Maryknoll Spartans went 5 sets with the Chargers pulling out the win in the semifinals of the 2026 HHSAA State Division II Boys Volleyball Championship Tournament played at Aiea High School on Thursday.
The Chargers defeated the Spartans 25-23, 24-26, 25-20, 22-25, 15-9. The semifinal matchup featured outstanding power hitting performances by Maryknoll’s Kiai Ilae (30 kills, 1 ace) and Pearl City’s Josiah Talamoa (28 kills, 1 ace).
14-0, #2 seed Pearl City earned their way to the 2026 HHSAA State Division II Volleyball Championship Title Game and will take on the 15-1, #1 seed Le Jardin Bulldogs on Friday at the Cannon Activities Center with first serve scheduled for 5:00pm. The DI Championship will follow at 7:00pm. Both Championship Title Games will be broadcast live on Spectrum OC16.
It going to be a classic championship matchup as #1 vs. #2 for the 2026 HHSAA State Division II Boys Volleyball Championship Crown, and the same for the 2026 HHSAA State Division I Boys Volleyball Championship Crown as #1 Punahou will take on #2 Moanalua at 7:00pm.
