By Barry Villamil, Past President, Rotary Club of Pearlridge
Mahalo to the Rotary Club of Pearlridge (RCOP) and Pearl City High School (PCHS) Interact Club for once again coming together to partner in the community on Saturday to volunteer at the annual Honolulu City & County Pearl Harbor Bike Path Cleanup.
Mr. Dane Souza, Advisor, Pearl City High School Interact Club
“It’s nice getting to better the community along with so many other like minded individuals including our new freshmen and other members. Tim the Rotary president did an awesome job planning and working with myself and the students.”
Cali Aguilar, Vice President, Pearl City High School Interact Club
“It’s nice to see all the new people show up for our community. There are many other organizations that collaborate with us like for example, the Boy Scouts, came out this time! I love to see the progress we make!”
PCHS Interact Club and RCOP volunteers worked in teams to pick up rubbish on the Pearl Harbor Bike Path and Pearl Harbor shoreline from the HECO Waiau Power Plant in Pearl City to the bridge near Cutter Ford in Aiea.
All volunteers met following cleanup duties in Blaisdell Park for refreshments and fellowship. Refreshments were provided by the Rotary Club of Pearlridge.
Mahalo to RCOP President Tim Mehlhorn and PCHS Interact Club Advisor Mr. Dane Souza for organizing Saturday’s Pearl Harbor Bike Path Cleanup and for their exceptional leadership.
Also mahalo to all the RCOP and PCHS Interact Club volunteers for beautifying the Pearl City and Aiea communities via their green, sustainable, environmental efforts.
