We just got back and I wanted to update you on our trip to the CMP 3P National Championship in Camp Perry, Ohio June 19-21 2025.

The Pearl City Chargers team finished in 2nd place overall! We also earned top honors in the club category. There were 35 teams and 190 individuals.

We brought the HHSAA championship team + the OIA and West Regional Champion Tessa from Mililani (Coach’s granddaughter / my niece)

Scoring Team (Day1/2):

Chole Obuhanych  550 / 556 (9th)

Jenna Liang           561 / 540 (14th)

Ella Wenceslao      539 / 546 (31st)

Tessa Carr             547 / 546 (25th)

And two U17 individuals:

Reagan Chang     (72nd/22nd)

Calie Yoda            (89th/31st)

The tournament was a two day competition and our team was leading in first after Day1 by 15 points with a 2197 total. However, after a stellar day two performance from North Brunswick HS NC (+31 on their Day1) we came up short 10 points to the tournament champions. Chole was two points shy of making it to Top 8 individually; from there Top 8 compete in a shoot off to determine the individual champion. I think Chloe had a good shot to podium, outside of the extremely talented tournament winner, top 2 was anyone’s taking. She did a great job transitioning to shooting electronic targets for the first time vs our paper sheets at home.

I thought this team was special and knew we could do well. It is good to know that our program can stack up against the top mainland JROTC/Rifle Academies. We are super proud of our first showing and glad we got to represent Hawaii on a National stage!
