The Roosevelt Rough Riders captured their third Oahu Interscholastic Association Division 2 Football Championship in-a-row last night after defeating the Pearl City Chargers 34_14 at Farrington High School’s Skippa Diaz Stadium.
Both teams battled through the rain with their sights set on an OIA championship with the Rough Riders overpowering the Chargers from the opening whistle. Rough Riders QB Kaeo Bush threw for 158 yards while completing 15-25 with 2 touchdowns. Ioane Kamanao caught 7 passes with 1 touchdown. Kamanao also scored on a rushing touchdown and kicked an 18-yard second quarter field goal.
The potent Chargers offense was held to a net offense of 153 yards.
The Rough Riders and Chargers head off to next week’s 2025 HHSSA State Division 2 Football Championships. Match-ups TBA.
