Congratulations to iconic Pearl City swim coach Ken Suenaga who will receive the ultimate recognition of his legendary coaching career on January 5, 2026 with the renaming of the Pearl City Recreation Pool in his honor.
The Honolulu City Council approved a resolution in September of 2025 to rename the Pearl City Recreation Pool “Ken Suenaga Swimming Pool”.
Mahalo to Scott Suenaga, son of Ken Suenaga and former Pearl City Charger swimming standout who contacted me with the amazing and well-deserved news of the renaming of the Pearl City Recreation Pool for his dad.
