Pearl City friends and neighbors lined the Pearl City Shopping Center Christmas Parade route on Sunday while cheering on over 1200 amazing parade marchers and 43 Christmas themed decorated vehicles.
The parade began at Momilani Elementary School at 4:00pm and ended at the Pearl City Shopping Center at around 5:30pm. An awards ceremony with cash prizes and trophies sponsored by the Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association followed near Bank of Hawaii.
Awards were presented as voted by parade course judges, for Best Marching, Vehicle, and Most Spirited groups.
Parade participants included the Royal Hawaiian Band, Pearl City High School Marching Band, Pearl City elementary schools, Highlands Intermediate, Pearl City High School, businesses, Hawaiian Electric, community organizations, youth sports teams, Polynesian dance groups, businesses, as well as area elected officials.
Mahalo to everyone who participated, as well as supported the annual Christmas spirited community event.
Mahalo to our talented emcees who were positioned at the parade start at Momilani Elementary School (Lisa Walker}, midway on the parade route at Highlands Intermediate School {Devin “Ducky” Nakasone), approaching the Pearl City Shopping Center parking lot entrance (Terry Vispera), and at the awards ceremony tent near Bank of Hawaii and McDonald’s (Manel Nakasone).
Mahalo to the HPD officers who led the 2.3-mile parade route while keeping everyone safe and the parade moving smoothly.
Mahalo to Momilani Elementary School Principal Garrett Arakawa and Highlands Intermediate School Principal Lance Tanouye for once again hosting and playing an integral role in the success of Sundays 2025 Pearl City Shopping Center Christmas Parade.
Momilani Elementary served as the parade participant line-up, staging, and parade start. The school also hosted an announcer station and emcee.
Highlands Intermediate hosted an announcer station and emcee positioned on Hoolaulea Street fronting the school. Participating parade groups were identified with a quick bio that was broadcasted to the crowd that lined Hoolaulea Street.
Mahalo to the Pearl City Shopping Center Security Team and volunteers from the Mana Loa Nimitz Lions Club who did a great job with parade participant parking.
Mahalo to Cliff Myers and his sound team for providing outstanding sound at each of the announcer stations. Great job!
Also, mahalo to Lauren Ushijima Mori, owner of 808 Craft & Gift Fairs who sponsored and presented a craft fair and food truck event on Sunday at the Pearl City Shopping Center lower level near American Savings Bank and the Grand Chinese Restaurant that was a huge hit for shopping center patrons and parade participants. The event ran from 11:00am to 6:30pm.
The Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association also presented their annual check donations to the Pearl City High School Project Grad 2026 Program ($1000.00) and Nationally recognized Pearl City High School Marching Band Program ($500.00).
