From: Hawaii State Public Library System
In addition to the previously announced closures for O‘ahu, Kauaʻi and Maui County, closures have expanded to include all public libraries and offices on Hawaiʻi Island on Friday, March 13.
This update aligns with the directive issued by Gov. Josh Green and county mayors in response to severe weather conditions impacting communities statewide. The decision to close libraries and offices across all islands was made out of an abundance of caution due to ongoing concerns related to flooding, hazardous road conditions, and potential power outages.
Whenever the library is closed, the HSPLS digital doors are always open at librarieshawaii.org. With just a library card you can download e-books, stream movies, learn a language, read The New York Times and more!
