Terry and Carol Min, owners of Dave’s Ice Cream at the Pearl City Shopping Center have been serving up delicious ice cream treats for the past fifteen years much to the delight of loyal customers from keiki to kupuna. The husband and wife team work side by side with Terry behind the scenes, as well as supporting Carol upfront while serving goodies to their happy customers seven days a week.
Everybody loves ice cream especially while being served so many delicious flavors by Carol that is scooped up and passed over the counter with a genuine smile and caring hands that are inspired by repeat customers, who in time, have bonded as friends.

“It’s good to be here at the Pearl City Shopping Center. It’s been a long time, over fifteen years. Most of my steady customers are more like friends and family, almost ohana. Majority of my customers are all neighborhood people and very good friends.”
Carol Min proudly mentioned to me that Dave’s Ice Cream flavors are the only ice cream made fresh in Hawaii and that their Green Tea Ice Cream flavor is better than Green Tea Ice Cream in Japan. Also, during the Holiday’s, one of her customers favorite flavors is Pumpkin Cheesecake Crunch.
“Our Green Tea ice cream is better than Green Tea ice cream in Japan. It’s good and my favorite. It’s very popular. One of our seasonal ice creams is Pumpkin Cheesecake Crunch. It’s only available during the Holiday’s through December. Shave ice is a favorite most of the year, especially during the warmer months. We have good shave ice. We also have ono Halo Halo, ICEE and Ice Cream Cakes. Dave’s Ice Cream serves the only ice cream made fresh in Hawaii. There are eight Dave’s Ice Cream stores in Hawaii.”
I’m happy to say that my ohana and I have been loyal customers of Terry and Carol since they opened their doors at the Pearl City Shopping Center fifteen years ago. It is always a pleasant experience stopping in and enjoying one of my favorite ice cream flavors along with an opportunity to chat with Carol. Together, Terry and Carol play an integral role in the spirit of happiness and friendship between merchants and customers at the Pearl City Shopping Center.
