The Kaiser Cougars (6-2) shocked the Pearl City Chargers (6-2) last night with a 24-14 semifinal win in the 2026 Oahu Interscholastic Association Division II Football Championship Playoffs played at Pearl City High School’s Edwin Bino Neves Stadium.
Kaiser earned their way to face the Kalaheo Mustangs next week for the 2026 OIA DII Football Championship Title. The Cougars also earned a berth in the 2026 HHSAA State Division II Football Championship Playoffs.
The Kalaheo Mustangs (8-0) defeated the Castle Knights (4-4) 31-13 on Thursday in a semifinal matchup to advance to the DII Championship and a berth in the HHSAA State DII Championship Playoffs.
The Cougars avenged an earlier regular season 52-27 blowout loss to the Chargers.
Last night’s loss is going to go down as one of toughest defeats for the Chargers football program that bounced them from an opportunity to play for an OIA DII Championship and a berth in the HHSAA State Championships.
Congratulations to the Kaiser Cougars!
Congratulations to the Chargers who played with their heart and soul throughout the preseason, regular and post season.
